"As the tower rises, the design unfolds from a highly divided lower typology to a more open approach at the top. The vertical transition of materials changes from tactile to fragile.

Reminiscent of the materials used in the area, the podium level has been wrapped with brick. On the street side, glazed brick and 'cast stone' components have been utilised to draw interest to the proposal and solidify it within its context. The design approach of the facade overlooking the alley address' the perceived quality of the space, embracing the utilitarian aesthetic whilst elevating it.

The tower above has been designed with a series of varying projections, adding texture and shadow at a variety of scales. The simple palette of metal panel and glazing has been articulated as a gradient from dense mullioned frames to large open windows at a higher level."
